Mass shooting in the Antioch community on the south side of Nashville. The weapon was and AR-15. "AR" is the identification used by, and stands for, Armalite, Inc. the manufacturer of the "15" = AR-15. Any weapon used to attack a hostile person or position is, by definition, an assault weapon.

My thoughts:

This person was known, and had contact with, Illinois Law Enforcement and the FBI. He was known to have a history of mental problems, and a "propensity" for guns. The Federal govt. is strictly limited in what they can do by the Constitution. State's GOVENORS are the principal authority in state issues. The US Constitution specifically charges the governors with sovereign authority to secure the safety and welfare of their residents. Additionally, the 10th Amendment, further strengthens States responsibility.

Questions:
Have any governors, in any state, that has experienced these kinds of atrocities, EVER individually, or collectively demanded that Federal law enforcement agencies share relevant information on known persons that may pose a threat to society with state and local agencies? Why not? Is it incompetence, or intentional?

Why are persons known to have mental issues and violent tendencies or destructive behavior, and an anti-social history, or interest in guns or other weapons, not confined for their own protection and the safety of the general population?

Here's a strong, rational, peaceful response. Do not focus on guns.
CHALLENGE your Govenors and State elected representation to address these issues and any more you may think of, to secure your safety at the LOCAL level.
